Aviation Security
/ Safety
What follows is a partial
list of suggestions provided by organizations and people on the
internet, to reduce security threats, after the
related events in New York and Washington on Sept. 11, 2001.
If you have any
suggestions, please forward them to us at ariane@ariane-info.com
and/or your civil aviation authority. Thank
you.
Cabin Crew
- Train them with self-defence techniques and psychology
- Change airline procedures for responding to a hijack
- Give them teaser shots not to strong, or guns that injects sleeping dose to the
unruly individual
- Put the crew in their own independent compartment.
Flight Crew
- Provide a way for the flight crew to see
activity in the cabin (video camera)
- Redesign transponders so they can't be turned off from the
cockpit
- Use cell phones for emergency communication
Passengers
- Before the flight, have them remove their clothes, except underwear,
and give them disposable jumpsuits to travel. This can be done prior to
boarding. Clothes are to be put in an individually tagged bag as carry
on baggage in the aft section of the aircraft, given to the cabin crews.
- When asked, have passengers give a hand to crews when in
difficulty with unruly passenger or hijack.
Aircraft
- Provide a way for video images from the cockpit and cabin
to be recorded, as well as broadcast to the ground.
- Make the cockpit door and door locks stronger.
- Put incognito air marshals on airline flights
- Allow the aircraft to be controlled remotely from the
ground.
- Have a military aircraft intercept any hijacked aircraft.
- Transmit cockpit voice recorder data and flight data
recorder data continuously to a ground-based data storage facility
Airport
- Put the airport security screeners under government
control
- Remove opportunities to plant explosives or other weapons
in the non-sterile area of airport terminals.
- Implement security procedures on maintenance, catering,
cleaning personnel etc. that goes in and out without checks.
- Increase the number of visible security personnel at
airports.
- Establish airport care centers that provide comfort and
support to nervous or fearful passengers. These kinds of centers
would be staffed by organizations such as the Red Cross that has
experience in providing similar services after natural disasters.
Cabin Baggage
- Ban all carry-on luggage
- Ban from carry on luggage items that could be used in a
defensive fashion by hijackers.
Information
- Regularly check the
information of all registered pilots, mechanics, flight attendants, and
other aviation professionals against information within law enforcement,
voter registration, drivers license, and other government
databases. This kind of surveillance will find those who are
sought by law enforcement as well as help uncover those who have
outdated or fraudulent information.
International Politic
- Countries should sign a treaty that should be respected,
promoting peace on earth, once and for all.
Religion
- Religions should agree on the same values (love, respect, harmony
etc.), promoting the well-being of man kind.
If you have any suggestions,
