AIA054E-
Airport Management Training - Commercial
Description: This course has been designed as one of the
specialized courses which embrace the field of Airport Management.
This course leads the students toward the development of the
commercial potentials of the airports. The course objectives will
enable airport management to identify and develop non-aeronautical
activities at the airport in a manner which will yield the
maximum financial returns. Students will be given a broad knowledge
of airport financing and of world-wide trends and appreciate the
importance of developing non-aeronautical revenue. The course will
follow a sequence of lecture sessions after which will be workshop
exercises. A field visit to an airport is included so that students
may see, at first hand, the types of activities and how they relate
to the normal functions of the airport. The revenue earning
opportunities will be examined together with the method by which
they should be identified to satisfy a particular market. The
different methods of operating commercial activities will be
identified and tendering procedures studied in detail. In view of
the widely differing commercial situations between countries the
instructor will take action to orientate the lessons towards the
particular needs of interest. Based on ICAO regulations.
