Max Ward, 50 minutes, 17 seconds, color with sound, made in 1984, English.
Produced by the National Film Board of Canada.
Synopsis
This documentary is a study of entrepreneurship - the story
of Max Ward, a former bush pilot who's company grew to become one of the major airlines in
Canada. Although Wardair had only seven aircrafts at the time of the film, the company
controlled a major share of the Canada / Hawaii market and carried a substantial
percentage of the Canada / Caribbean, Mexico and European traffic. This film focuses on
Max Ward's distinctive style of hands-on management : - hallway meetings, informal chats
with the staff, checks on maintenance and flight preparations, in-flight conversation with
vacationing customers. The key element of Wardair's success was the president's personal
touch. Suitable for an introduction on airline
management. |
