Recommendations,
effective 01 November 2003
On
March 21, 2002, ICAO has adopted strengthened in-flight security standards
that require reinforced cockpit doors on civil aircraft, as well as other
in-flight security procedures. The new security standards apply to
international flights using civil aircraft of more than 60 passengers,
effective 01 November 2003. The Council of ICAO, which sets
international civil aviation standards, also adopted a recommendation for
the CENTRE's 190 Member States to extend the provisions to
domestic flights and to smaller aircraft types.
